The Hobbit Part 3

This one is quite long… so you may want to watch it in 2 smaller sessions.

I’ve just recorded a different book – I’ll post it tomorrow. Then we can have 2 going. It’s really funny and interesting so far… but a little disgusting!  I hope you like it, I think the boys will especially like it…

The Hobbit Part 2

Hi,

Here is the next installment. I have added a little song that my good friend has made for us – I hope you like it! Don’t forget, you need to watch part 1 first (posted the other day).

Please let me know if you have any requests for other books etc, or what you think of the Hobbit…

CHALLENGE FOR Y6 (and anyone else really) – My friend used GarageBand to create the song at the start of the story – why not create your own little song to inspire us all at Caxton? Purple forms for the best ones!

Stop Start Animation Challenge

Hi everyone,

Why not make a stop start animation while you are at home. You might have the Stop Motion app already on your iPad…

You can use toys or even artwork that you have created. Here is an amazing example made by  a Y6 pupil from quite a few years ago to inspire you.  Please save any videos in the ‘Work for the Blog/Mr Fraser’ folder in Google Drive, but please tell me on here that you’ve uploaded one. Good luck

Online Resources

Hi everyone,

I hope you have had a great weekend – I know having some sunshine has made me feel more positive… Below are some links to websites that you may find interesting. If you have ever read any of David Walliams’ books (and enjoyed them!) I would recommend listening to him. They are shared with Sound Cloud – which is a sharing platform that has lots of podcasts, music etc on it.

I’m sure many of you have been doing the Joe Wicks activities to keep fighting fit, but check out some of the others. I’m pretty sure they can be accessed at other times – but the daily new activities are on at the times (in Spain) that I’ve written. Hope they are of some use.

10.00am – PE with Joe Wicks https://youtu.be/6v-a_dpwhro

Story Time

Hi all,

So, I’ve overcome my embarrassment and tried a live streaming of me reading a story. It’s the Hobbit. I loved this book as a child and it really inspired  me  to read and develop a love of reading (especially fantasy and science fiction). I do make lots of little mistakes – but that’s ok isn’t it… Please be kind…

You can watch it any time – but if you’d like me to read it live sometime, please let me know when would be a good time and I’ll try my best.

Maybe you could suggest other books you’d like me to read. However, getting hold of them might be tricky – but I’m sure together we could work something out!

Technology Activities

Hi everyone, when you are a bit bored – why not do some of these fantastic coding challenges from this website (click on the link). Make sure you read the instructions carefully and do your best! There are lots and lots of activities – some for younger children and some for older. Grade 4 in America is our Y5 I think. I wouldn’t try the ones that are  for Grade 6 or above, as they will probably be for secondary kids (using text based coding… rather difficult!) Show perseverance and you will be successful!!! Good luck.

Get Your Body Moving!!!

Hi everyone,

Being stuck inside the house has meant my step counter on my watch has been the lowest ever!!! I usually do at least 10,000 a day and often more like 20,000. Here is a video for indoor PE lessons to get your body moving. I felt so much better after doing exercise and had more energy! On his YouTube channel are some shorter sessions if you prefer, just search for others. He does one every day at 10 am if you want to do it every day – COME ON – LET’S DO SOME EXERCISE!!!

If you have any tips on how to keep fit when stuck in your house – please post them here. I’ve been trying to do yoga or Mindfulness every day too.

Let’s Get Creative

Hello everyone, what do you think has happened in these photos? Get creative and inventive and describe what has just happened. It can be funny, serious, silly… anything really, as long as it is interesting and written well. Think about using adverbs, adjectives, similes, metaphors etc. and make sure you use a wide variety of punctuation.

I will keep posting writing and maths challenges while you are at home – and even some Technology ones. Stay positive and take care of each other!

Remember – don’t use your full name when posting onto the internet…
