Gardening Club spring update

By Martina A

As you all know, a new club has been introduced in our school… The Gardening Club! But what’s up with it? Read more to find out!

So, the fantastic gardening club meets on Wednesdays at clubs time and sometimes at break time. This club is run by the lovely Ms Robleh who teaches us about the skills needed to take care of plants and vegetables. On special occasions, we get to take some vegetables home, what a treat! Every time we go to the garden, we water the plants and also take away some of the dead plants and put it in the compost so that it can help other plants to grow healthier!

A gardening club member called Llum has told us her favourite part: “I love watering plants, watching plants grow and being part of it”

This club also helps children in primary to learn more about how to take care of the plants for science! Also, some people can’t grow plants at their house since they maybe live on a small flat where plants can’t grow very well, but in the Gardening Club you can grow loads of plants! So far, we’ve planted some beetroot, lettuce, kale, strawberries and more! Check it out!

If you want to join this awesome environmental club, you can join by entering the Caxton´s year 5 & 6 blog, search for gardening club and enter the link to the form. Now, only year 5 & 6 can join but we still hope to see you there!!
