Hi everyone,
Next week is Anti-Bullying Week (or we’d like to think of it as ‘Why not be as kind as you possibly can…’ Week). The message this year is ‘Change Starts With Us’. What do you think that might mean? A purple form for the best answers, remember it’s about your opinion, so there isn’t really a completely correct or incorrect answer…
Change starts here.
Change starts now.
On Friday, we will end the week with ‘Odd Socks Day’ to highlight that we are all unique, but being different isn’t a reason to be unkind about all the things that make us unique…

The first thing you need to do is change your self into a better person to be kind and have lots of friends.

Great idea. Thanks for your comment, but please remember – don’t use your full name when online (I changed it for you).

Change the people that do bullying, to not do bullying.
caxtoncollege
Thanks Sergio – any ideas as to how we can try to do that?

It means being kind to people, having hope in them and being friends with them not because of their skin colour or their type of hair, but because of their personality, happiness, kindness and compassion. So it’s time for us to change.

Wonderfully positive ideas Allegra. Please remember – don’t use your full name when online. I changed it for you.

I think the change starts with us means that you need to start thinking about your actions and maybe start being more aware about other people’s behaviour. I’m saying this because it is anti bullying week maybe we need to be on the lookout for people who are not being very nice to other people and maybe change the way that the person is treating the other person that way.

Great ideas Amelie. Thanks for your comment.

I think that “the change starts with us” means that if we can be a better person, we can show other people that being kind is the best thing we can do.
caxtoncollege
Well done Aisha – that is a lovely way of thinking.
Aaden Y5A
Change starts with us
caxtoncollege
Yes, but I’m sure you could expand on this… Also, aren’t you in Y6 now? 😉
Jacobo B 6A
I think that change starts now means that we should try to be as kind as we possibly can and get the kindness record.
caxtoncollege
Great idea Jacobo.
LUCIA 6A
The meaning is if we don’t change we will stay like we are now ,but if we change we can be more respectful and kind to other people
CHANGE NOW OF IT WILL BE TO LATE!!!
caxtoncollege
Fantastic idea Lucia.
Aaden Y6A
Change starts with our behaviour and the way we treat others. If you are not kind to other people, people won’t be kind to you. But if you are kind to others people will be kind to you.
Ps: Sorry I forgot to change my year.
caxtoncollege
I really like your explanation Aaden. Now you have the correct year group! Yay! 😉
Sara 6D
First you need to change yourself before trying to change the others and have a great effort to smile and be polite, because if you aren’t you cant change others.
caxtoncollege
That is an excellent answer Sara.
Ana
I would like that bullying stops, because its making a lot of people a lot of people sad 🙁
caxtoncollege
Yes, luckily we don’t have much at our school, but any at all is too much…

I think that ‘change starts with us’ means this:
Each of us has a power to change things into kinder things, an act that you do is something that can make an enormous change and that could be the start of something new, something kind.

Wonderfully written Paz! Thanks.
